REAL ESTATE CREDENTIALS

Real Estate Never Looked Better

The best residential property advertising generates an emotional response

To help real estate agents leverage this emotional response and to drive more people to open inspections, The Advertiser’s Real Estate magazine will be going gloss from August 29, 2015!

Gloss offers the widest colour range and clearest reproduction, allowing for high resolution, magazine-quality imagery. It’s this clarity that promotes initiation of the ‘property love’ connection which precedes rational factors like price and it increases the longevity and shelf-life of the magazine.

To support the launch of the new look Real Estate magazine, a comprehensive marketing campaign will be undertaken across out of home advertising (reaching 93% of people aged 25–54) and promoted through our own media – The Advertiser, Sunday Mail, Messenger and Advertiser.com.au. To further drive awareness, the magazine will be inserted in The Australian metro edition for the first four weeks of the launch.

The out of home campaign will be highlighted by a brand new digital billboard in Rundle Mall (reaching 400,000 shoppers per week), as well as six weeks of CBD and metro AdShel bus stop sites, and two high impact street furniture sites.

The gloss magazine will be launched at Adelaide Oval on Wednesday July 15, 2015. As part of the launch we will be providing a FREE seminar for all real estate agents, hearing from industry experts like Tom Panos, John McGrath and Marcus Chiminello.

What’s new?

New features in The Advertiser Real Estate magazine

DREAM HOMES

These pages feature a range of expensive and stunning properties from around the world. We can all imagine what a $40 million villa in Italy or a majestic manor at Devon in the United Kingdom looks like; each week our readers will see some of the most spectacular dream homes from around the world.

DREAM INTERIORS

This section will showcase beautiful interiors and give readers tips on how to style their dream home. You don’t need a million dollar property overlooking the beach or a spectacular Adelaide Hills mansion to fit out your home with a stunning interior. These pages will provide additional editorial value to the reader every week.

APARTMENT LIVING

With many apartments currently on offer and more in the pipeline, this feature is a must for investors and vendors wishing to take advantage of the growing city apartment living scene.

AUCTION ACTION

Everyone loves to know about auctions that take place within their suburbs. Whilst only 8% of properties are auctioned in this state, there is a general interest in auctions and the auctions process. This section will feature a selection of auctions for the weekend as well as up to date information on auctions from industry experts. We will feature vendors and buyers that have bought and sold at auction, giving readers first hand accounts of their experience.

How? By extending reach to a bigger audience of buyers, meaning more competition and higher prices. All of this is backed up by Corelogic RP Data, the number one provider of property information in Australia.

Passive buyers can be accelerated into an active phase if the property displayed in print resonates and generates an emotional response. Those readers will not discover properties listed online only.

Size matters

We put the same house in three different advertisements, and asked, "If this property was in your area, how much would it be worth?"

Bigger advertisements create bigger impressions, and allow space for more images and richer descriptions. The images and descriptions stimulate emotional buyer responses, and buyer competition.

People generally don’t move too far from their current address when buying a new house. Research shows that 44% of people would move no more than 10km from their current address.

And the local paper is an important tool in the customer journey:

  • 72% of respondents are interested in recent sales and price data for their local area
  • 70% are interested in news about the local are where they’re buying or selling
  • 68% are interested in properties recently listed in their local area

The local newspaper is also amongst the most trusted of sources regarding Real Estate and drive a majority of readers online for more information.

By nature of the media, this trust is also extended to advertisers. In this respect, the local paper becomes a highly effective tool to profile Real Estate Agents – a big first step when it comes to selling a property.

There are plenty of advertising options, including display advertising, inserts and printing on Messenger plastic delivery bags.

60 Day offer

Reignite your marketing campaign by receiving future ads at a discounted rate, for properties that have exceeded 60 days from its first advertisement

How it works
  1. Identify your Real Estate listings in The Advertiser on Saturday that have exceeded 60 days from its first advertisement.
  2. Contact your vendor to discuss this great opportunity with them.
  3. Book your 60 day Real Estate advertisement in The Advertiser on Saturday (any size, including an image) with your advertising agency. You must provide the property details and the date it was first advertised in the Real Estate magazine.
  4. Your advertising agency will book your 60 day advertisement as part of your corporate advertising volume.
  5. The Advertiser’s Real Estate Team will validate your booking. Please note, normal charges will apply if validation identifies advertising that does not meet the '60 day' criteria as outlined in the FAQs.
Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum criteria to qualify for the half price offer? The property qualifies for the 60 day offer, 60 days after its first advertisement in the Real Estate magazine. There is no maximum amount of days, as long as the property has stayed with the same vendor.

Will the property qualify if I have advertised within 60 days? Yes. As long as the first advertisement exceeds 60 days.

Does the offer apply to any size advertisement? Yes. Regardless of previous advertising activity, you can have any corporate size advertisement with an image at the 60 day rate (subject to qualifying criteria).

How many times can I advertise once I qualify for this offer? Once the advertisement qualifies, you can access the offer as many times as you like.

Will my property qualify if it was advertised previously as a classified line advertisement without an image? Yes. However, your 60 day advertisement must feature an image in your corporate advertisement.

Can I use this offer for classified line advertisements? No. This offer only applies to properties with an image in your corporatedisplay advertisement.

If I have previously advertised in the Real Estate section on a weekday, does my property qualify? No. This offer only applies to previous advertising in The Advertiser on Saturday’s Real Estate liftout.

What happens if the property does not meet the '60 day' qualifying criteria? The advertisement will be charged at your normal corporate rate. This will be communicated to your advertising agency as part of the media booking process.
