Olympia Aldersey (Rowing)

Aldersey had impressive results at the world championships in France and the world cup in Switzerland this year. Teamed with Sally Kehoe to win silver in the women's double scull final at the world cup in Lucerne and was fourth in the B Final at the world titles.




Rohan Dennis (Cycling)

Opened his season by winning the Tour Down Under on home soil, in February he broke the world hour record in Switzerland, then in July he wore the yellow jersey at the Tour de France after winning the Stage 1 time trial and finished the year by winning a world title with BMC in the teams time trial in the United States.




Annette Edmondson (Cycling)

Edmondson had an outstanding 2015 UCI Track World Championships in Paris when she became a two-time world champion. She helped Australia's team pursuit to a gold medal in world record time before adding an individual title to her resume as well by winning the omnium. Both are Olympic events in Rio next year.




Lleyton Hewitt (Tennis)

Hewitt retired from Davis Cup as Australia's greatest ever player after the semi-final loss to Great Britain in September. He also reached the second round of both the Australian Open and US Open of the singles draw.




Renae Ingles (Netball)

The champion wing defence was brilliant in her World Cup debut in Sydney in August, dominating her position in the semi-final victory over Jamaica and gold medal triumph over New Zealand. Ingles was a member of the leadership group for the tournament and was elevated to vice captain for the Constellation Cup series against the Silver Ferns.


Thanasi Kokkinakis (Tennis)

Achieved a career-best world ranking of 69 in July after reaching the third round of the French Open with a win over compatriot Bernard Tomic. He also beat World No.13 Ernests Gulbis in the first round of the Australian Open. Kokkinakis also played an important part in Australia's Davis Cup season including a win over Daniel Evans of Great Britain in the semi-final.




Anna Meares (Cycling)

Meares officially became the most successful female track cyclist in history when in February she won a record 11th world title in Paris. Meares' triumph in the keirin final saw her break Frenchwoman Felicia Ballanger's record of 10 world championships as she eyes a record fourth Olympics in Rio next year.




Antonio Murdaca (Golf)

Lived a boyhood dream in April when he made his debut in the US Masters at Augusta. He booked his spot in the Masters by becoming the first Australian to win the Asia Pacific Amateur Championship in October, 2014, with a record winning margin. By October, 2015, Murdaca had turned professional.




Jarred Tallent (Walking)

Tallent won a silver medal at the IAAF World Athletics Championships in the men's 50km road race walk in Beijing in August. It was the third time Tallent had finished second in a major meet after silver medals in the event at the past two Olympics Games. Australia's greatest race walker clocked a time of 3:42.55 to finish second behind Slovakian Matej Toth in China this year.



James Troisi (Soccer)

The Adelaide-born striker became a national hero when he scored the winning goal which secured the Asian Cup - Australia's biggest ever prize on the soccer stage. He spent the regular season owned by Juventus in Italy but was on loan to Waregem in Belgium and spent his off-season in Adelaide.
